Conisbro’ Castle.
The owner of Conisbro’ Castle, Lord Conyers, it is stated, contemplates enclosing the grounds attached to the castle, and has also decided to place a roof on the Saxon tower and to preserve the remains of the ancient walls from further demolition by building protective walls around them.
The grounds, we learn, are also to be laid out in a tasteful manner. The scheme, if carried out, will prove a great boon to the visitors to the castle, and will tend to preserve the ancient fabric from further spoliation.
At present many acts of vandalism are perpetrated by persons who come from a distance, some of them even going so far as to take pieces of the masonry away with them when they depart.
