Conisbro Celbrate a Success

Mrs P M Gothing chairman of the women’s section of Conisbrough British Legion on Wednesday received the Princess Royal cup for efficiency and progress in a small group.

The cup was presented to the section by Mrs J Adams, Convenor for the don valley group. The occasion was the annual party in the British legion headquarters at Conisbrough.

Over sixty people sat down to tea and they included visitors from Goldthorpe, Wath, Thurnscoe, Bolton and Brampton.

After tea toast was proposed by the vicar the Rev G F Braithwaite who passed round the Princess Royal Cup so that everyone could drink to the toast. The cup is the highest award that can be won in the West Riding County Area and is presented for six months to a small branch and six months to a large branch
