Conisbro’ Hospital’s Future

Mr Harvey Ford, chairman of Doncaster Hospital Management Committee, stated on Tuesday that Conisbrough Isolation Hospital is to be converted into a hospital for aged people and chronic sick cases. Patients will be moved there from Western Hospital, Doncaster, to make room for maternity ward extensions.

Western Hospital is the new name for Springwell House.

Mr Ford added that the 11 tuberculosis beds at Conisborough Isolation Hospital will remain, but no more will be installed.
