Conisbro’ — Husband and Wife
On Monday, Wm. Bailey, of Conisbro’, was taken before Major Sturrock to answer a charge of assaulting his wife.
The woman stated that on Thursday evening she was walking from Denaby with her husband, and asked him if he intended to find her a home. He was not in a happy humour, and instead of replying, struck her in the face with his open hand. She again put the question to him, and he repeated the assault with greater force, vouchsafing as a reply, “I’ll kill you, you ———.”
The police desired the case to be remanded for a few days, and this was agreed to.
