Sheffield Independent – Friday 02 February 1894
Conisbro’ School Board.
A meeting of this board was held last night, Mr. Dufty presiding.
A lengthy discussion arose in reference to continuous regularity on the part of many children, and it was resolved that a number of the parents be summoned to appear before the board.
Mr. Sargeantson, the newly-appointed attendance officer, said he knew this was an ordeal that many persons did not like, it “made them tremble.”
Miss Roberts, of Sheffield, and Miss Hayes, of Leyland, near Taunton, were appointed to fill vacancies on the teaching staff.
