Conisbrough Bank Changes
Manager Retiring this Month
Retiring from the National Provincial bank at the end of this month is Mr Frank Leslie Partridge of Heber House, Warmsworth.
Mr Partridge has served the National Provincial for 43 years, the last 10 of them as manager at Conisbrough. He will retire on January 31. A married man Mr Partridge has two sons working in National Provincial Bank branches.
He is treasure of Conisbrough Recreational Hall and a member of Conisbrough Savings Committee.
Mr Partridge started banking career in 1912 in Birmingham. During the First World War he served in the Navy. After the war he worked at Gloucester and later Smithfield as manager. During the last war he served in the Home Guard. After the war he became manager of the Conisbrough branch stop
His successor will be Mr Joshua Willians Bruce, of Eastham (Cheshire) who returned to his native Yorkshire this week to look after the bank. Mr Bruce started banking career at the Sheffield (George Street) and became Assisting Accountant before leaving for Bradfield (near Huddersfield) and later for Liverpool (Victoria Street) where he has served for 16 years.
A married man with one young son, Mr Bruce will live in Conisbrough.
