Future in the Balance
Conisbrough Chamber of Trade
At a meeting of Conisbrough and Denaby Chamber of Trade on Wednesday only four members attended and because of the lack of support during the past two years it was suggested that the Chamber be suspended.
The eight-years-old Chamber it was agreed, is to be suspended if there is no increase in the interest in the Chamber.
Each of the 60 members of the Chamber is to be sent a letter asking his opinion on the proposed suspension.
Another meeting was fixed for November 10th. If there is by then some indication that there is an increase in interest members are personally to visit traders in an effort to get more members. If there is by then no increase in interest the Chamber will be suspended.
In a statement the members said “they felt it a great pity if the Chamber were suspended as the work they had done in the past justified its existence, but unless there were no more support the Chamber would have to be suspended.
