Mrs Hannah Granger (66) of 35 Ellershaw Lane, Conisbrough set sail on Tuesday for Australia where she is to spend between eight months and a year with relatives.

Among the people she hopes to visit are her brothers Arthur, Charles, John, Ronald and Walter Hancock and sister Lillian who all left 31 Bolton Street 38 years ago.

She may also see her husband’s brothers Harry and Albert Granger and his sister Maud who all originate from Orchard Street Mexborough.

Mrs Granger who was accompanied to Southampton on Monday by her husband, Cadeby colliery worker Mr George Granger, and several members of their family has received many messages of goodwill from people who wished to be remembered to the family in Australia

Mrs Granger has one sister in England Mrs S Taylor of Maltby Street Denaby who is also hoping to visit Australia sometime in the future.
