Conisbrough Head to Visit Canada

Conisbrough headmaster, Mr Geoffrey Saddler, is to travel to Nova Scotia in July to lecture to teachers and inspectors at a summer school.

Mr Saddler received an invitation to attend the six weeks course as a lecturer on “Creative Work in Primary Schools” from the state of Nova Scotia education department.

He will fly from London to Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 1 and will return to his home at Wheatley Hills, Doncaster, on August 14.

Mr Saddler headmaster at Conisbrough Ivanhoe school for seven years, told the “South Yorkshire Times” this week that he did not know why he in particular had received the invitation. “The only thing I can think of is that the school has had overseas visitors in the past, and some of them have been candidates” said Mr Saddler.

Mr Saddler’s wife will not accompany him.

“I will be doing about three hours lecturing a day. And that will involve quite a lot of work,” said Mr Saddler.
