Conisbrough Housing

Because of the alleged delay by a contractor in starting work on the Conanby No. 2 housing site, next year’s building programme might be retarded, Conisbrough Urban Council were warned on Wednesday at their monthly meeting.

Coun. D. Sheldon said the next allocation of houses depended upon the present allocation being finished. Good progress had been made with a contract let to another builder but up to Wednesday night, work had not started on the other site.

The man had been contacted by letter and had promised to make a start, and he had also been approached by the Regional Ministry of Health.

He is to be asked to meet the Council at an early date, and if the meeting takes place at Conisbrough all available members will attend.
