Conisbrough Ivanhoe Cycling Club, making a belated start to their programme this season, rocketed back into the cycling news with a great win against first-class opposition in the Meersbrook C.C.´s annual open 25 mile time trial.
With Barry Breedon an outstanding winner, and Brian Hodkin, Tony Moffatt and Eric Wright all packing into the first 10 places of the hundred 20 competitors, they started what must be another sequence of team wins at the expense of Rockingham C.C. their local rivals.
Barry Breedon clocked 59 min, 33 secs to win the Jack Woodcock Trophy by the wide margin of 1 min 11 seconds.
Brian Hodkin was in sixth place (1-2-51) and Tony Moffat and Eric Wright dead heated for the role of third man in the Conisbrough team in 1-3-2
