Conisbrough Legion Take Over New H.Q.

Members of Conisbrough branch of the Women’s Section of the British Legion   were busy re decorating their new premises at the week-end. For two years, the Legion branch in Conisbrough has been without permanent quarters. but a fortnight ago the commttee of Conisbrough Castle W.M.C. agreed to loan two rooms to the branch.

The new room, in Chapel Lane consists of a main hall which can be divided by a partition, a kitchen and cloakroom and toilet facilities.

Mesdames H. Oliver, G. Liibbons, S Butcher. E Woodward and E. Longstaffe have been painting, papering and scrubbing out the new premises.

Mrs. P. M. Gething, secretary said this week: ” These are the best headquarters we have had for two years. Although the landlord of the Three Horse Shoes Motel has been very kind to us, we had no room for social functions.”
