Conisbrough Man has been Around

Only 20 years old, and having served in the Army In five different countries is a record of L.A.C. David Crockford of 97, Sheffield Road, Conisbrough.

Returning home on 21 days leave from Germany, David will be posted to the island of Sylt, of the German coast when his leave is finished, and in June he expect to be posted to Cyprus.

Cyprus is not a new posting to David, however, as he served there for three months before going to Germany.

There are served in Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, Denmark and Germany in his 2 ½ years, in the Forces.

A “regular,” and a member of a military family David worked for horticulturists in Doncaster before signing on the age of 17. His father served for 30 years in the Army and his step brother for five years in the RAF.

David is the only son of Mr and Mrs Crockford.
