Conisbrough Man’s £18,000 Estate

Bequests to the Salvation Army, Doctor Barnardo’s homes and the National Institute for the Blind are among those revealed in the £18,000 will published this week of a retired Conisbrough hairdresser and newsagent.

He was Mr Harry Gibson, of Elm Green Lane, Conisbrough, who left £18,122 (18,021 net) duty-paid was £2170.

Mr Gibson was a former president of Mexborough and district newsagents Federation.

The bequests to the 3 Organisations Named were £35 in the case of the Salvation Army, and £20 each to the other two.

In addition, he left £25 to his sister Elizabeth Wilson, “for her assistance in my Early business days.”
