Conisbrough Next Promises to Be One of Their Best

Conisbrough St. Peters players, who have staged 15 plays since their inauguration in 1948, welcome back Pauline Bedford and the Cyril Brooke for their production of “Loves a Luxury” at the Church hall Conisbrough, from May 9-12th. These two players last appeared with the society in 1953.

For this three act farcical comedy by Guy Paxton and Edward V. Holle the players have chosen one of their strongest teams, and under the capable direction of Mrs Edith Urch there is every promise that this will be one of Conisbrough’s best presentations in their eight years history. Mrs Urch herself plays the part of Mrs Charles Brown and other members of the cast will be Kathleen Price (as Molly). Cyril Brook (Charles Pentwick), G Alec Taylor (Bobby Bentley), Brian Panther (Mr Mole) Pauline Bedford (Fritz Villiers), Peter Pilkington (Dick Pentwick), Phillis Drabble (Mrs Harris) and John Kingston (Jollop.)

Peter Pilkington and John Kingston are making they debut but Peter, says the secretary, Mrs L Brook, did valuable work that stage during the last production. “The remainder of the cast appeared in the society’s Bed of Roses last December” Mrs Brook adds.
