Family splits up

It has been an unhappy week for Mr and Mrs Albert Webb and their three children, who had to leave their. N. C. B. Home in the Crescent, Conisbrough. Mr Webb, who now works as a builder’s labourer, was employed at Cadeby Main colliery for about 17 years, when on his doctor’s advice he left the pit with a chest ailments. They have lived in The Crescent 10 years.

A possession order was granted to the owners a few months ago. Because the family could not find alternative accommodation and extension of time was granted to them and this expired this week.
Mr Webb’s daughter Dorothy (11) and Tony (six) and now staying with his sister, Mrs. E. Greaves, in Cadeby Avenue; and Mrs. Webb and their youngest child, Christine (eight months), are living with Mrs. Webbs parents in Conan Road.

They hope eventually to have a council house.
