Water
The quality of our water supply has again been the cause of grumbling.
It is a bit too much to give a person a bucketful of water so clear that the bottom is invisible, with intimation that it is guaranteed pure and unadulterated, even if you show them an analysis of the water at the same time.
It may be considered pure, but at any rate it is scarcely attractive, and fancy goes a long way with the majority of people.
