Conisbrough “Short Cut”
School Governors to Close It

In her report to Mexborough Secondary Schools Governors last Thursday, Miss D. J. Hilborne, headmistress of Conisbrough Northcliffe Girls’ Secondary School stated that in spite of notices adults were still using the playground and field as a short cut.

“I do not know what measures can be taken to prevent this since it is almost impossible to obtain names, and it seems to have been the accepted custom for many years,” she said.

The Governors decided to include in next year’s estimates provision for the replacement of the railings which, before the war, bordered Northcliffe Road. They were removed during the war.
