Conisbrough Soldier in Hospital
After Bomb Incident
Seriously concerned over the health of her son, Guardsman David Kent, Mrs Elsie Kent of 9 Elm Green Lane, Conisbrough left for London on Sunday to see him.
On Friday she was informed through the local police that he was “seriously ill” and on Sunday morning that he was “dangerously ill,” with pneumonia in Aldershot military hospital.
The pneumonia turned out to be the sequel to a tear gas accident at Purbright on Thursday in which there were several casualties.
Guardsman Kent signed for a three-year engagement in September last year.
A former Conisbrough Northcliffe Modern Schoolboy he started work as a butcher’s boy.
