Mr A. W. R. Taylor engineer and surveyor to the Conisbrough Urban District Council, retired on July 1st 1956, after 45 years service in local government.
Mr Taylor has been in the employment of the council ever since it was, constituated in 1921, been transferred at that time from the staff of the Doncaster R.D.C with whom he had been employed since 1911.
The chairman of the Council (county Ald. B. Roberts J. P.) and the members intend to make Mr Taylor a presentation. The members of the public have expressed a desire to subscribe and should send donations to the councils treasurer (Mr H. Otley), at the council offices, Conisbrough. Mr Taylor has received an inscribed wrist were watch from his colleagues and council staff and a barometer from the workmen of his department.
