Conisbrough Widow is 91
Still Hale and Active
Many congratulations cards decorated the home of Mrs Sarah Elizabeth Ratcliffe, of 60, Daylands Avenue, Conisbrough, on Wednesday when she celebrated her 91st birthday.
Mrs Ratcliffe a widow, was born in Sheffield and has lived in Conisbrough for 50 years. As well as being the oldest woman in Conisbrough, she is among the most active and has done much nursing during her married life.
The many birthday cards came from her large family, most of whom live in Conisbrough. She has one daughter and one son, Mr Frank Ratcliffe, a collier, of Rock Row, Conisbrough, and her only daughter with whom she lives, Mrs G. V. Thompson.
She has a total of 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a 15 month old great great grandchild.
Mrs Ratcliffe was widowed 13 years ago. She has been a regular attender at Conisbrough Parish Church, where her husband was a sidesman.
