Conisbrough’s Jugged’ Hare

A different kind of “prisoner” was “jugged” in Conisbrough Police Station yesterday morning.

It was a hare, who had somehow got into the prisoners’ exercising yard, and had tried to leap out again over the 10-foot high wall.

The result was a badly-damaged leg, and the hare was chased and coaxed into one of the cells, where it was killed.

The hare, now “jugged” elsewhere will no doubt make its next appearance before a dining “bench.”
