Council Welcome The Opportunity.
The Conisborough Urban Council last night discussed a communication from Wakefield, which informed them that the West Riding County Council had appointed a Committee to make investigation into County administration and to ascertain whether any, and, if so, what economies might be effected.
The Urban Council were asked if they had any suggestions to make as to whether Council expenditure could be reduced in their district, and whether they would be prepared to appoint a representative to give evidence if requested.
The Chairman welcomed the letter, and said that if an immediate answer was required, he suggested that a favourable one should be returned and that Mr. H. C. Harrison should be appointed as their representative. It was agreed that a special meeting of the Council should be called in order that the question should be given full consideration.
