Cup Final Referee for Denaby Benefit Match

Permission has been granted to the organisers to hold the Past v Present match at Denaby on May 4th for the benefit of “Bill” Lawley, the former Denaby trainer.

It is hoped that most of the following former, Denaby players will be given permission by th.ir respective clubs to take part:

Brannan (Arsenal); Woodhead and Rodgers (Hull City); J. C. Johnson (Rotherham), Cowan (Manchester City), Barker (Derby County); Jenkins (Burnley), Hancock (Burnley), Briggs (Birmingham), Morallee (Grimsby), Green (Gainsboro’), Bussey (Stoke), Wilson (Brighton and Hove).

The organisers are hoping to secure the services of Mr. E. Wood, of Sheffield, the referee who will be in charge of this seasons F.A. Cup Final, for the match.
