Cyclists Take Note!
Conisborough Youths Give No Warning.

Two youthful cyclists in John and George Brooke, Bros, of Conisborough, were charged with not giving warning of their approach while cycling on July 28.

PC Ransom, who was on duty in Sheffield Road, Conisborough, said he saw the two defendants riding bicycles, going in the direction of Doncaster, at a speed of, in his estimation, about 12 or 14 miles an hour. After they had gone about 30 yards past him, they overtook two men and four children. They gave no warning in until they were about 5 yards away, when they shouted. The two men got out the way with difficulty. And the children narrowly escaped being knocked over.

Michael Carmody corroborated.

Defendant pleaded that they gave sufficient warning, but the people did not get out of the way.

They were each let off with the costs 11s.
