Czech Gift to Denaby Main
Mr. Alfred Wellings, jun., of 39, Church Road, Denaby Main, has a handkerchief which has been sent to him as a token of friendship from Czecho-Slovakia by a man named Stanislav Stedron, with whom he worked in a factory at Brux in Germany while he was a prisoner of war and Stedron was a civilian internee.
The handkerchief bears a map of Czecho-Slovakia and the emblems of the Allied Armies and has been printed in commemoration of peace.
It has the following message printed on it: ‘The Czechoslovak people to save the world peace gave up in 1938 their historic frontier that has not been changed for a thousand years and by hundreds of wars. With the aid of the Allied Nations represented by the United States, British and Soviet Armies, Czecho-Slovakia attained its liberty again in 1945. TRUTH ALWAYS WINS.
