Death From Typhoid Fever At Denaby Main.
A death from typhoid fever occurred at Denaby Main on Friday last, the victim being Joseph Nettleship, aged 16, son of Mr. Joseph Nettleship, lampkeeper at the Denaby Main Colliery, residing at 1, Doncaster Road.
Some few weeks ago, it may be remembered, two or three cases of typhoid broke out at Denaby Main, but the patients were at once removed, and there was no further outbreak until the one referred to of Nettleship, which from the first was regarded as serious.
His illness was but short, he being only off work about a fortnight. He was employed as a lamp cleaner at the colliery under his father, and at the funeral, which took place at the Mexborough Cemetery on Sunday, the whole of his work mates and fellow companions followed the remains to the grave, as a mark of respect to the deceased.
Much sympathy is felt towards the parents in their sad loss.
