Mr J Massey, the father of the famous Sheffield football player, expired on Monday last, at the age of 69 years.
Deceased was well known and highly respected by the people of Denaby.
Mr Massey had been ailing for a lengthy period, but the end was not expected, and he was helped out of his bed on Monday morning, up and when he got back he seemed to be a little better, and a neighbour, who has acted as nurse to deceased thought him to be somewhat easier than usual until it was discovered deceased had taken a relapse, which he never recovered and died as stated above.
Much sympathy is expressed towards Mrs Massey in her sad bereavement
