Denaby 252 for 4  Hemsworth 47

Denaby had an easy passage at the expense of Hemsworth. After Wainwright (48) and Greenwood (38) had taken the edge off a never very formidable attack, Ellis Robinson collared it altogether to score a brilliant 105 not out in 83 minutes. He hit 17 fours and a six and in one over hit five fours and a single. Arthur Vollans, home on holiday, contributed 21, and Denaby declared at 252 for 4 wickets, leaving plenty of time to get Hemsworth out.

Mountney and Robinson did this without difficulty in less than an hour, the former taking 6 wickets for 11 runs and the latter 4 for 27. S. Robinson (13) and Clayton (16) were the only Hemsworth players to reach double figures and five failed to score, the final total being 47.
