Denaby and Cadeby Aim To Go To Town

Denaby and Cadeby Athletic Club’s, cricket section, which failed to hit the high spots last season, will be going all out for honours next year

Last weekend they signed Brian Exley, an all-rounder from Cortonwood, bringing the number of close season “recruits” to 4.

Others to join Denaby’s ranks are Colin Parker, a former Northants colt, who last season was with Wombwell and was previously with Dearne. An all-rounder Colin will be more than a useful addition to the Denaby team. Other all-rounders to join Denaby and Malcolm Walker, the former Somerset County player, from Kimberworth, and Trevor Harvey, from Conisbrough. The latter has been playing in Doncaster League cricket with Conisbrough.

Denaby are in the Yorkshire Council South Riding League, Division “A”, and a committee member told the South Yorkshire Times this week: “we didn’t do very much last season, but next season we shall be going to town.
