Denaby and Cadeby Collieries Trips

The employees of these two large collieries had their annual trips last Saturday. Most of the Denaby men – both miners and servicemen – went to Liverpool, where they spent a jolly day, returning safely home at an early hour on Sunday morning.

The greater part of the key men elected to though by the Hull and Barnsley trip to Hull. Leaving about 7 am in a 16 coach train, every compartment of which was filled to its utmost capacity, they landed in Alexandra Dock during the foreman, where two magnificent steamers were lying to take the party a sea trip trip to Grimsby and Cleethorpes. The voyage is spoken of very highly, and this pleasant days outing will doubtless be taken advantage of again at an early date.
