Denaby Had ‘Em Out for 13 !

Jack Bullard (picture) was Denaby’s hero on Saturday. His magnificent bowling performance. six for five, with that H Newton, 3 for 6, dismissed Harworth for only 13 runs. Denaby had scored 82.

Harworth’s innings was merely a procession two from the pavilion. Our batsmen, determined when they took their stance at the wicket, were soon in difficulties and after the first few balls returned crest fallen.

Bullard, at the peak of his form, took his first wicket with the score at one run. After that wickets fell one after the other and after 20 minutes Harworth’s score was four runs for four wickets, two of these runs being byes. Bullard had taken three of these wickets. C. Widdison, who went in fourth wicket down, scored Harworth’s highest. He had one shot which reached the boundary, but after that he did not last long. H. Ridge and J Slater managed to reach miserable twos, but they were just as easily dismissed, one by Bullard, the other by Newton. After 33 minutes Harworth, were only ten for seven, and ten minutes later they were all out.

Fall of their wickets was:

1-1
2-2
3-2
4-4
5-9
6-10
7-10
8-11
9-13
10-13

Derby’s Innings was slow, but sure. They reached their 82 In just under two hours
(K. Bacon 29).    W Truswell had 7 tor 31 for Harworth.
