Denaby Burning Fatality

Nelly Fisher, aged seven, daughter of Private Walter Fisher (K.O.Y.L.I.), has died in the Fullerton hospital at Denaby from burns.

She was in the habit of getting up first in the morning to light the fire. Her mother was upstairs, while dressing, heard a scream, and rushing downstairs she saw her daughter in flames. She rolled her in a rug.

The girl was severely burned about the head, face, body and legs.

She said she had been throwing some coals on the fire, and had had a paper up in front of the fire, and it caught fire.
