South Kirkby had to field a weak side against Denaby in their closing game of the season, at South Kirkby.

Denaby too had a weak team, but, thanks largely to exorable fielding on the part of the South Kirkby men, their total rose to a far more impressive figure than that subsequently obtained by the home batsmen, and Narroway, though he gave many chances, carried out his bat for a century.

Will Cantrill made a great effort to save his side – a much greater effort than his contribution of 34 would seem to indicate, but, it was unavailing and Kirkby were beaten by 132 runs
