Robinson Routs Bullcroft

Thanks to the brilliant bowling of Ellis Robinson, Denaby’s young County colt, it took them little more than an hour to dismiss Bullcroft for 56 runs at Tickhill Square on Monday and score an easy nine wickets victory, the runs being knocked off in just under the hour, with the result that the match was over in little more than a couple of hours.

Robinson’s final figures were:

O. 12.3  M. 3  R. 19  W. 9

and only Alberry and Heason offered any resistance to this devastating attack.

Denaby’s other County colt, Dickinson, was responsible for the other wicket, splitting the Bullcroft first-wicket pair in his first over with only two runs on the board.

Robinson then proceeded to go through the side. His last three wickets cost him no runs and four of his victims were clean bowled.

Irving Greenwood’s wicket was the only one captured by the Bullcroft bowlers. He was clean bowled by Shaw after hitting three fours in his 17.

Ellis Robinson then helped Wainwright to take the score to 57 for one, 12 of his 16 runs coming from boundaries.
