Denaby and Cadeby Cricket Club

The Denaby and Cadeby club is fielding its first team in the Doncaster and district league, and a second team in the South Yorkshire league. Some very useful players are available under the captaincy of Mr H.W.Smith, who is very keen for amateur and sportsmanlike cricket.

The club is at present joint holders with Bulcroft of the Warde Aldham Cup

The captain, with the veteran Robinson, Jack Palmer and Billy Widdowson, supply the stiffening for the team, which will also include three players lately released from the forces- Bob Pattison, and the brothers Atkins.

The second team is to be captained by Ernest Robinson, and ought to make a decent show.

The Denaby ground is one of the finest in the district, and a visit to Denaby, is always welcomed by cricketers of the district, because a perfect wicket, a friendly handshake, and a cup of tea are always certain. Not to mention a sporting crowd.
