For their return match with Mansfield at Denaby on Monday, Denaby had two changes from Saturday’s team, Hatfield and Wathey taking the places of Tibbles and L Robinson. The visitors were not at full strength, and although Greenwood took six wickets for 49 he was sometimes erratic.
For Mansfield Welsh, Spencer and Wright batted extremely well.
Considering Denaby are short of bowlers, why wasn’t Hadfield given a chance, he has done well in the Doncaster league. At one period of Denaby’s innings runs were thrown away, much to the annoyance of the spectators. Wright, one of Denaby’s young batsmen scored a useful 47
