Paying their first visit to Shaw Lane, the Denaby team gained a meritorious victory.
After Denaby’s first three wickets had produced 87, five wickets fell for nine runs, but Widdowson and Hofton added 54 for the ninth wicket, the latter hitting a 6 and seven 4’s. T. Gill had the good figures of six for 46.
Barnsley made a poor response, and, with Denaby fielding well, the home side were dismissed for 69, Widdowson taking six wickets for 44.
