Denaby Bowler’s Success
Some excellent cricket was seen at Denaby on Saturday when the home team won their match with Rotherham Town by two wickets. For Denaby, E. Robinson took 9 wickets for 30 runs. L. Smelt hit up a stylish 51 for Rotherham, and J. C. Poole made 107 not out for Denaby. Scores: Rotherham (J. L. Halman 50, L. Smelt 51, G. Root 36), 168; Denaby (J. C. Poole 107 not out, G. Porter 24), 174 for 7.
Notts Player at Denaby
C. J. Poole, the Notts. player, who took part in the charity match at Denaby earlier in the week, turned out for Denaby on Saturday against Rotherham, and scored 107 not out in Denaby’s total of 170 for three. Rotherham were all out for 168, due to the fine bowling of Robinson, who took nine for 30.
