The match on Tuesday between Denaby and Darton ended in a very tame draw. Denaby batted first and Darton were left with 110 minutes to get 188 runs, but it was not until the last 30 minutes that the batsmen made any attempt to obtain them.
Denaby opened with Tibbles and Greenwood, and with 16 runs scored Tibbles was caught in the slips. Wainwright and Greenwood carried the scores to 63, and at 68 both batsmen had gone. Worthington joined Vollens, who left that 80. Worthington continued to bat freely, and had scored 49 when he was given out lbw. With the score at 187 for eight declared.
Darton played for keeps, and not until they were safe from defeat did they go for the bowling. Darton needed 35 runs when time arrived. For Denaby Kennedy had two wickets for 57 runs, Worthington two for 31 and for Darton Wilde four for 47.
