Denaby’s Successful Holiday
Denaby brought their holiday programme to a successful end when they secured their third victory by defeating Elsecar at Denaby.
Denaby declared at 196 for seven, while Elsecar were all out for 77. A feature of the game was the fast scoring partnership between Shephard and Cory, who enlivened the game.
Principal scorers for Denaby were Ellis (17), Burkinshaw (29), Wright (44), Wardle (25), Shephard (34 not out) and Cory (18 not out). Bamforth (13), Widdowson (10), and Wrightson (23), were Elsecar’s chief scorers.
For Elsecar, R. White had 3 for 59 and Bannister 3 for 54. For Denaby, Porter had 2 for 14, Vickers 5 for 44, and Wardle 3 for 14.
