Denaby’s Fine Win
The Denaby v. Bird-in-Hand encounter on Saturday, in the Sheffield Challenge Cup, was a typical cup-tie game, and the defeat which Denaby succeeded in administering to the clever Sheffield team was, perhaps, one of the surprises of the afternoon. The score of 3—2 is a fair reflex of the game, which was pretty evenly-contested throughout.
The Denaby goalie was especially brilliant, and accomplished some marvellous saves. Bird-in-Hand had a fast set of forwards, who, however, were more or less easily held in check by the Denaby intermediate line.
Denaby’s goals were scored by Hatton and Parkinson.
