Denaby 72 for 1 Cortonwood 71
Jack Wardle Denaby’s left arm bowler had another field day on Saturday, his best this season, when he took seven for 29 against Cortonwood, while at the other end Newton the Darnall youth, had three for 18 and took two good catches off Wardle.
The left hander had the Cortonwood batsmen completely tied up. Cortonwood’s chief scorers were Scott (15) Denton (10) and Grant (9) in a total of 71.
Denaby rubbed off the runs for the loss of one wicket, Howson being out for 14, while Senior (33 not out) and Ellis (24 not out) were the other scorers.
