Sheffield United Carry Off the Championship

Denaby and Cadeby  46  Sheffield United  51 for 2

Sheffield United have again won the Yorkshire Council championship. They make sure of it by defeating Denaby and Cadeby, at Denaby, on Saturday by eight wickets.

It is an honour richly deserved, for no club has played better and more consistent cricket than the United team this summer.

Denaby could do nothing with the bowling of Elms (four for 60) and Buckley (six for 30), and were all out for 46. Buckley did the hat-trick, dismissing Tibbles, Narroway and Grieg, the last named pulling a ball from 6 inches off the off stump on to his wicket.

Rogers kept a fine wicket, giving no extras, and the United fielding was very keen. After Elms and Buckley had left, Walker and Wilkinson got the runs.
