Doncaster 128  Denaby & Cadeby 99

At, Doncaster. After appearing to heading for a heavy defeat, Doncaster Town pulled off a good victory, thanks to the effective wagging of their tail and subsequent attack.

Chadwick and Wells pulled the game round adding 47 for the sixth wicket, and the later batsmen carried the good work against a tired attack. Denaby were always having to fight for runs, and after a bad start they never looked like passing Doncaster’s respectable total of 128. There was an improvement, but Bowman bowled well to close the innings at 99. He took four wickets for 23, and for Denaby, Reg. Probert took five for 43
