Denaby Lose Their Advantage

Indifferent Reply to Modest Total

Though they got rid of East Ardsley for 93, Denaby found this total too large for them and fell short by 8 runs.  Wild and Springthorpe got rid of the first three Ardsley batsmen before they had scored and only one run was on the board when the fourth wicket fell.  Ely and Hartley however, pulled the game round, the former scoring 20 and the latter 22 and with Turfrey contributing a useful 21 later. Ardsley nearly reached the century.  Denaby had Wainwright (25) and Probert (28) largely to thank for their runs. Tibbles who had hitherto done so well being dismissed before he had scored.  As on Saturday he was the victim of a lbw decision.  Hepworth was a great source of trouble with the Denaby batsmen and took 5 for 34.
