Elsecar lost their second home match with Denaby on Saturday. Elsecar lost their first wicket at 39. Ike Baxter being given l.b.w. to Bullard for 21. Reg Bamforth 21. E. Kay (15) and J. Knighton (34) carried the score to 108 for 4 wickets, when Knighton was run out. The remaining six wickets took the total to 123.

Denaby made a disappointing start losing Howson with the second ball of the innings. His partner. F. Roberts was out for 10. R. Cory was missed when he had scored two and went on to get 28, and with Hawke to carry the score to 68. When Hawke with 32 his credit was out lbw to White, the score had risen to 85. P. Turner (26) and G. Williams (12) were both not out when the winnings hit was made with the score at 125 for six. For Denaby. R. Cory took three for six and J. Bullard four for 31.
