Denaby Still 100%

Mitchell Main  89  Denaby and Cadeby 117

Mitchell Main disappointed a good showing of supporters that they first home match of the season on Saturday when Denaby – still 100% – knocked up 117 and dismissed the home team for 89 runs

things looked bright for Mitchells when opening batsmen Jay Munden took a walk in the first over and after six Denaby wickets had fallen for only 68, but are Cory (32) and J Richards (25) carry the score to nearly 100 mark and proved the undoing of the home team.

J Wroe with three for 28 and R Cooling with three for 22 were Mitchell’s best bowlers.

It does not say a great deal for the rest of the Mitchell’s team when one notes that Cooling scored 56 of the total 89 runs. Five Mitchell’s batsmen had zero chucked against them and only three reached double figures. J Bullard cause Mitchell’s downfall, taking five for 28. H Newton at 3 for 15 and J Richards two for 30.

Denaby’s Peter Downing was a most annoyed man on the field, for the first over to Cooling he missed a catch which would have packed the home team in for 33 runs.
