Denaby & Cadeby Presentations.
There was an array of trophies view at the Denaby Welfare Hall, Denaby, on the occasion of a dinner in connection with the Denaby and Cadeby Cricket, Tennis, and Bowls Club.
Captain R. C. Higgins presided over large attendance, and during the evening the women’s section of the bowls club were presented, with the Mexborough and District League and the Montagu Hospital Cups.
The men also performed a “double” during the last season and were handed the Kelley Cup and the Rotherham and District League Cup and medals; and the tennis section received the Mexborough Association Cup.
The presentations for feats with bat and ball were made to the cricketers, and the recipients were:
First XI., batting, R. M. Carling; First XI. bowling, Probert.
Second XI. batting. H. Foster- Second XI. bowling, H. Wilkinson
It was announced, that they hope to field a much stronger Yorkshire Conncil team next cricket season as they had secured the services of C Probert, a fast bowler, and H. Wild, medium-pace bowler, from Bolton-on Dearne, and A. Richards, of Nottingham, a medium-pace bowler and batsman.
