Rotherham Six Wickets Defeat of Denaby

Rotherham Town 125 for 4   Denaby & Cadeby  121

Rotherham Town accounted for Denaby in easy fashion at Clifton Lane on Saturday running out winners with six wickets to spare.

Denaby, from the first, looked a losing side. Their opening bats, Tibbles and Greenwood, opened shakily and it came as no surprise when Greenwood was dismissed. Wainwright and Wright helped with respectable scores, but the rest of the side failed miserably and the side only collected 121 runs.

Nutton and Ellis set about their task in no uncertain manner and fours came to this pair as easily as singles hail been scored Tibbles and Wainwright. They put Rotherham well on the road to victory, scoring between them 71 runs. Edwards played big part for Rotherham. He captured 5 wickets for 32 runs, and then after Nutton and Ellis had lost their wickets he assisted with a nice knock of 25 not out.

Mosley had two Denaby wickets for 12 runs, while Denaby’s best bowling came from Robinson, who had 2 for 39.
